These are my thoughts and ramblings about YVBill 9 years later with fragmented memories and current Book of Bill information. My interpretation of characters will be different from others of course but:
As of right now I can’t see my interpretation of Y.V. being kind to Bill if he was exposed to the information in the Book of Bill thisisnotawebsitedotcom.com. I think he’d view Bill’s vulnerability and trauma as a personal failing and feel compelled to bully him. Inherently there is a cruelty to it but I think Y.V. is an asshole in alot of ways even if he tries to not seem so on Twitter and hypocrisy is a part of his nature. If Paul’s fic was canon (it’s not but the way I wrote Y.V. for my rp accounts was based on it) then Y.V. would definitely have trauma of his own (and some tweets on his Twitter does imply he’s going through Something). Again his behavior with a negative reaction towards Bill IF he knew about his backstory would be one where he compares himself to Bill and not being empathetic: “Well I killed alot of Venusians and I’m fine” type thing and honestly he probably was Fine with that considering he was imprisoned for years.
He might also just find that revealing such information would be too tmi for the internet or for a published book. Y.V. like most “influencers” try to showcase the best of their personality or try to make themselves seem likeable and perfect as possible, and I believe Y.V. buys into this so he might just straight up be ??? too.
All this to say, Y.V. has issues and I think if Bill ever mentioned a sliver of his backstory that was vulnerable Y.V. would get uncomfortable because his own backstory is essentially him killing himself and he doesn’t want to unpack that. The fact that Bill’s willing to unpack destroying a universe including his parents would probably make him feel like he’s being put on the spot.
