4 with Shorter and Eiji!!
The floor of the condo shook and rattled as the sound of gunshots and panicked yelling reverberated throughout the living room.
“Ah, fuckfuckfuck! FUCK!! DAMN IT!”
“YES!! Got ‘em!!”
Both Shorter and Eiji mashed the buttons of their controllers as hard as they could, hoping it meant their attacks would hit the other. The air was intense as both of their eyes were locked on the television.
“That was a lucky shot!”
“Oh? And what about the last three headshots I got?”
“Hey now, don’t get cocky just ‘cause you’re ahead! Shorter Wong has never lost!”
“Neither have I,” Eiji teased, knowing full well that this was his first time ever playing. He might have been a terrible shooter with a real gun, but apparently he was a pro in the gaming world.
They diverted their focus back to the game. Shorter on the top half, and Eiji on the bottom. The final round was upon them. They were neck and neck; at any point, either one could take the win. Shorter sat on the edge of his chair, eyebrows furrowed in concentration as Eiji sat cross-legged on the floor next to his legs.
This was it. Just as he was about to shoot for the win, Eiji was completely caught off guard by the feeling of something digging under one of his arms. He just about dropped his controller as he burst into a fit of giggles.
“AAAHAHAHAHA! Nooooo, stahahahap!”
“Don’t slip!”
“Thahahahat’s cheating!!”
For a good ten seconds, Eiji lost control and was resigned to his laughter. Shorter would pull away, then attack his side, then pinch all over his midsection randomly so Eiji couldn’t predict where his hand would go next. It tickled horribly, and he tried his best to squirm away while also staying alive in the game. As Eiji was distracted, his shooter snuck out from behind a corner and KO’ed him in one blast. The words “MATCH OVER” displayed on the screen.
Shorter looked at Eiji with a shit eating grin.
“I win.”
Eiji crossed his arms and pouted.
“No fair!! I want a rematch!”
“Nuh uh! You lost fair and square!”
“Did not! You cheated!!”
“Diiiiid not~”
Their bickering continued until Eiji finally forced Shorter to agree to a do-over. He ardently rebooted the main menu and the trash talking began once more. This time, Eiji sat on the far side of the room.
