@leoxvandorenâ
Gunfire echoed through the cramped space.
Selwyn dâAlessi grimaced as she took a steadying breath, the acrid and sour fumes of spent gunpowder making her eyes slightly water.Â
What was supposed to be a routine exchange of information had quickly gone wrong, the appearance of several unknown players causing weapons to be quickly unsheathed - weapons that, by prior agreement, werenât even supposed to be present. She had acted quickly as soon as the first shot was fired, inking out the space, dissolving any source of light and thrusting their surroundings into the totality of darkness.Â
But both the unknown players and her informants seemed to be bent on silencing the opposing party, firing into the empty space around them, content to hit anything, anyone. Mutually assured destruction. She managed to dodge the bullets, steps silent as she made her way towards the exit, the only person in the room unaffected by the illusions. There was no way to contain the situation - a quick scan of minds assured her the only option they accepted was to kill the opponent, or die trying.Â
It was behind a stack of cardboard boxes that she spotted an unfamiliar man, seemingly not affiliated with either group. And bleeding out.Â
There was no time to think, no time to ask who he was or why heâd been caught in the crossfire. She merely wrapped her arm around his waist, looping his own arm around her shoulders. Pressure on the wound, she instructed, sending the instructions to his mind as they made their way to the door, in case speaking aloud would give away their location.Â

When Heather made a plan, she fixated on it, her vision narrowed until all she could see was finishing it. These were her responsibilities and they needed to be completely in a timely and efficient manner. Which is why when she didnât see Leo at the wake or the funeral or in the time that she waited at the cemetery, she steeled herself and drove to his home. What had once been Larissaâs home as well. She almost lost her nerve right there but the plastic in her purse pushed her forward.Â
Larissa had mentioned her brotherâs tendency to spend time in the garage, so Heather carefully parked her car between the others which presumably belonged to family and friends who were still mourning the loss. (âNo warning signs,â a man at the funeral had said and Heather had nearly screamed.)Â Â
The garage was on the small side, as it needed to be to accommodate for the other residents of the house, and she stepped up to knock against the door. âLeo? Itâs Heather Farzaneh? From the House of Song?â She shuffled her feet, looking uncomfortably back at the house. âI have something for you. I wanted to give it to you before but you- I couldn't find you."

Library
Karter had finished the last few books he'd taken from the library, surprised by the weird variety there had been, most likely not having noticed it before, when he had visited it often. He had left a book by Peter Perring Thoms by the front desk as well as a few histories, walking now again through the history section. His mind had left the architecture phase that it had dived into before the holidays and had gone to woodworking for most of the month but now it was back on random facts from history and so he had decided to take a few more he'd asked to make sure were here.
With "A History of Warfare" and "The Tomb of Tutankhamen", which he was sure Amy would approve of, and was now looking towards the only, as told by the woman at the front desk, copy of "A Chronicle of England, B.C. 55 - A.D. 1485." He spent quite a while looking through the shelves and then as he had been told it was still here and no one had checked it out, he turned around and looked through the people sitting on the tables with faces buried in books. Sliding by a woman who had what he needed, he opened one of his books, as if ready to sit and read, leaning a bit forward with a smile. "Hey! Do you have a lot more to read? I would totally love to have that one once you're done... and if you won't check it out. Then I will totally need your number so I can ask when you return it."

Jacqui loved music for a lot of reasons - mostly for the creative and emotional outlet it gave them. They had no dreams to pursue it, as a lot of people did, Jacqui a firm believer of not monetizing things you loved - and, well, a firm believer against capitalism as a whole - but they did fully intend to continue to be a musician regardless of what their career was. Which was why finding access to a studio to play in was key at Ogden, not about to annoy their roommate with a full drum kit. They luckily got themselves some time booked in one, though they were in high demand, and when they arrived, whoever was using the studio before them was still in there. Not about to rush them out - the creative process couldnât be rushed - Jacqui curled themselves onto a bench outside the studio, pulling out their phone and thumbing through it as they waited.Â

When Gemma spotted Leo, she couldnât help but approach him, despite his familiar not-exactly-happy expression, dropping herself down at the table in the seat across from him with a self-satisfied smirk, an expression she was all too familiar with wearing. âLooks like I wore you down,â she said, her tone teasing, of course reference the rose he had sent to her. âNever wouldâve expected it from you. I mean, I can convince pretty much anyone to do anything, but still. Didnât think I got through to you. The next girl youâre forced into taking on a date owes me so much.âÂ

How had he found his way here? He had no idea but one thing was sure: this wasnât his world. Still, his new purpose hadnât changed, he was going to become stronger and for that purpose he was seeking for opponents to test his own power against when he heard of an event going on where you could challenge this landâs ruler. As it was expected, he didnât even wait to hear all the details before he rushed towards the place.
Once there, it was just as he expected, a full battle arena all fighting a girl and at first he wasnât sure if the girl was a contender or said ruler but as soon as he heard someone cheering on the girl by the title of Your Majesty He couldnât help but smirk as he had found a rival to test his power against. Without announcing himself he jumped into the arena while covered in a black cloak.
âHoooh~ So you are the strongest one here, right?â
