I HAVE BECOME MILDLY OBSESSED WITH THE SPENCER MARY BENNET WEARS IN TWO DIFFERENT FABRICS
Because ok she obviously wears much more muted tones at the start of the series and then more wild colors and combinations when she comes into her own but the reason i love this choice so much is because to me, it signifies that she doesn't lose herself in the change!! she becomes more herself!! she's still Mary, she's still the same person she was when she lived at home, but now she's allowed to be FULLY herself, including bright colors and color combinations that aren't traditionally """stylish""" (looking at you red and spring green monstrosity)
Anyway, a friend of mine figured out that it's a pattern from Patterns of Fashion 1, the jacket portion of a riding habit, so i'll DEFINITELY be making it sometime in the future. i just love an asymmetrical closure what can i say
God bless IKEA for making passable 18th century fabrics in the form of duvet covers
Like ??
It’s giving chintz it’s giving brocade it’s giving Spitalfields silk
Blesséd and thankful 🙏😌
Went on a hike today! 🌲🌱🌳🍃
Turns out if you stand on a light in a crinoline you turn into a lampshade.

Made a bergère hat from a straw placemat.
Needs more voluminous hair to truly work but already v happy w it!!
Finished the WWI day suit!! Based on historical patterns from 1915-16.
An acquaintance from a reenactment group asked me to make a suit for his wife, since she wants to come along to more events but doesn’t have civilian clothing.
I also made a version of the skirt for myself and am definitely going to make the blouse for myself as well bc she’s cuuuute hehe
SHE’S DONE!!!!!! I cant wait to get good pictures while wearing her on Saturday!!!!!!!
