it was just a flesh wound —— the GRAZE of a bullet to his bicep, it wasn’t enough to stop him from returning the shot; a single bullet aimed with perfect precision right between foe’s eyes. he was content with the end result, though it would appear she was not. despite his continuous argument that he was ALRIGHT, that hadn’t stopped her from shoving him about once they were back into a safe space; her tone stern and steady and she forced him to take a seat on the cheap motel mattress; a huffed sigh of defeat finally passing betwixt parted lips from him. ❝ so bossy.. ❞ comes a grumbled complaint as pale blues watch the blonde gather the first aid; brows knitting in disinterest.

already he’s hiking bloodied sleeve up his arm so to reveal the wound to her, wincing when the fabrics grazes tender flesh a bit too roughly; his gaze dropping to see the damage done before rising up to meet her as she pulls up the chair against the wall the reside before him; taking a seat. she gets to work near immediately, and nate is helpless to stop her; merely opting to grimace at the sting of alcohol against open wound, the rare drop of the word ❝ ow – ❞ and all its variants making appearances, too, as she cleans it up. though despite his best efforts to remain irritated, he can’t help the upward tug at the corners of lips as she rolls her eyes and shakes her head at his small uproar. leave it to him to be falling for elena fisher — one of the few people who REFUSED to put up with his shit. then again, maybe that’s why he found himself falling for her.

new girl is one of the greatest shows on the planet and i love nick miller so much

though she was initially dubious and overall unamused by elena’s tale, the woman can’t help but to feel the faintest of smiles tugging at the corners of her lips.  honey hues flit downwards as nadine picks up on the movement of elena’s hands, eyes fixating for a moment on the wedding ring as she idly fiddles with it.  the ex-mercenary was quite surprised at the amount of information the blonde divulged in such a short matter of time, despite this being their second meeting.  the first was some time ago ; it was funny how nadine hadn’t the slightest idea the former tv personality’s future husband would give her all kinds of trouble further down the line.  how could she have known ?  it was a small world, with a wicked sense of humor.   

she briefly finds herself exploring wandering thoughts : how alike yet how different they were  ---  their stories were.  of course, nadine was not as comfortable in the sharing department, so perhaps her story would have to wait for another time.  

( another time  ---  strange how she thought it with what felt to be confidence of sorts.  time healed some wounds, and nadine supposed the whole drake incident was already beginning to be one of them. )

it was this sort of trade between the two– she’d teach him something she’d perfected the art of, he did the same in return for her with something of his own. it wasn’t necessary, not even a little, but it helped when they were APART— not to mention the two of them naturally enjoyed learning NEW THINGS. as expected, however, some were easier than others, and this was the latter. elena was the one who spoke many languages as it was— she was a JOURNALIST, traveling the world made it a requirement of sorts ( and had helped him out numerous times ); reading a DEAD LANGUAGE like thirteen century latin ( and the like ) wasn’t exactly something he’d considered necessary for her job— well, before she’d met him. it’d be a challenge, but one he’s willing to take on.
