I grew up obsessively watching soap operas on television every day. Mainly, the ABC ones: Loving, The City, All My Children, One Life To Live and General Hospital. Dabbled in Days of Our Lives.

I crushed on a lot of the gorgeous older women: Cassie from Loving and The City and that very same actress plays Carly on General Hospital now, Natalie and her evil twin Janet and Maria on All My Children, Vicki Buchanan and Dorian Lord on One Life To Live, Alexis, Felicia, Laura and Lucy on General Hospital and Marlena on Days of Our Lives.

Still, I always related to the teen characters of the older leads the most. There were no lesbian young characters until Bianca Montgomery, Erica Kane's daughter on All My Children came along and came out. I read some good and wrote some terrible fanfiction on a livejournal forum for All My Children in the early 2000s for the Lena Kundera x Bianca Montgomery (Lianca) ship. My first older woman/younger woman fascination ship.

I can't even remember what I used as an account to read and write back then so can't access that anymore maybe on a hard search through there. There's a few unfinished long ago abandoned works by me in Lena x Bianca. Funny to think about it now.

I wasn't a big BAM fan - Bianca and her best friend Maggie because Maggie was a total bitch to Lena in canon on the show. Lena had her flaws, but, still, back off Maggie. I liked Bianca and Frankie, Maggie's twin sister who died, the true original Bianca ship as I think her with Sarah was a bad blip.

When Bianca came back with her wife Reese after several years away, that relationship was awful bad rep for too many reasons, the biggest being Reese semi-cheating on Bianca with Bianca's brother-in-law. I also used to obsessively watch the Bianca and Marissa / Minx YouTube videos, but those featured a different actress playing Bianca and that was her last ship before the show was cancelled.

Anyways, I only started reading more contemporary fanfiction in 2015. I was searching through the soap opera tags for Lianca on fanfiction.net, but ended up finding and going through everything in the Rizzoli and Isles tag (because I watched that show with my mom) that I could find until 2016 when I found A03 because of the newer then Supergirl show. I started with Supercat and other season 1 ships that spiraled into a Supercorp obsession during Season 2 and beyond. I read some things on Wattpad, but their original format was absolutely terrible. I found Mirandy through a Supercat crossover fic and became obsessed with them.

Over the years, I've also shipped these women together: Bo and Lauren and Tamsin and Bo from Lost Girl, Cat and Frankie from LipService, Grace and Frankie from their named show, Hackle / Hecate Hardbroom and Ada Cackle from The Worst Witch, Jemily / JJ and Emily from Criminal Minds, Karma and Amy and Amy with her stepsister Lauren from Faking It, Naomi and Emily from Skins, Olivia Benson from Law and Order: SVU with any Law and Order woman and Wenclair from Wednesday.

The only heterosexual ships I ship are: Clois / Clark and Lois from all iterations of Superman, Joey and Pacey from Dawson's Creek, Kate and Jack and Juliet and Sawyer from LOST, Lucas and Peyton and Nathan and Haley from One Tree Hill, MJ and Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Scully and Mulder from the X-files and Sonny /Carly from General Hospital (with every actress who ever played Carly)
