“I used to think hell was not a place, but a mindset. Belief that you were being tortured. An understanding that you were suffering. And then...I saw the Dreaming City. After we slayed Riven and the final wish was let loose, everyone struggled week after week after week seeing the same three weeks over and over again. I knew Quria was behind this. This all seemed so much like a Vex simulation. I prided myself on always having something to gain from my assistance, but at the same time, destroying this city almost seemed like a mercy killing, like putting down a rabid dog. Death is bad, but torture of this caliber is much, much worse.”
