He’ll fidget, leaves you alone more (which makes you worry the most because he hates being away from you) and he’ll sneak off with Yuuji without saying what they’re doing.
It happens one day while you’re both picking up groceries. Choso initially has an elaborate plan to ask you while looking at the blooming hydrangea’s because he knows those are your favorite.
But something overcomes him while he’s watching you in the produce section. He watches the way you lean over to grab the perfect bok choy, mesmerized by your every movement. He makes a spontaneous decision when you laugh after catching him staring.
Choso pulls you aside into the alley after paying, holding you by your shoulders. He tells you all the ways you’re special to him, how you never leave his thoughts, and he can’t imagine a life without you in it.
When he finally says the words, “Will you marry me?”, his cheeks are flushed and his eyes are big and glassy.
And when you say yes, smiling through the happy tears you can’t control, he kisses you eagerly in the alley as people walk by unknowingly. Your grocery bags fall to the ground, and you both laugh while fumbling to pick them up.
The ceremony is a secret.
You both want it to be private, with only Yuuji attending as a witness. He can’t stop smiling the entire time, with tears filling his big brown eyes as he watches his brother and you exchange vows.
You find out later that Yuuji helped Choso pick out the wedding bands for you both; silver bands with your names inscribed on the inside. Both rings have your birthstone placed in the center. Since Choso doesn’t know he’s birthday, he opted to have the same stone as yours.
