Being new I didn’t quite know all the students in my class as of yet, but the ones I did know, their subjects were going to be boring for sure!

Leia Abbott lived up in the hills in the fancy houses. Her daddy was Paul Abbott and was running for the new Mayor of Strangerville, the old mayor was run out of town when they found out he was making tons of money on the “Mother Project” Leia was doing her project on Betsy Ross. Betsy Ross’s story was mainly a myth. 

Oliver, or as he always told everyone, “I am Oliver Crowell-Lang.” seemed like a nice enough guy and unknown to me then, we would later become the closest of friends. But in grade school he was not one of the brightest. His project was going to be on Jesse James, an outlaw who killed and robbed people, whose story was also mostly myths. 

Lastly, was Sam Rousseau, the class jerk, or that is at least what Marlee and I called him. He would grow up and in Senior year was voted most likely to wind up in prison. He actually tried, as his report was going to be on George Washington-Carver. But, again everyone knew who he was, he was the “token” History maker of color that the school board allowed in the curriculum .
