“ what? ”  she’s pulling the latch to open the car door as he asks this, and she has to quickly switch gears to  process  his question. whipping around, she gives him a baffled look.  it’s not like they had been on a date  –  god she would hope she’d put in more effort if she did. she was in need of a hair combing and a fresh change of clothes, but the surgeons who’d invited them both out hadn’t cared. to be honest the entire party looked like a bunch of  ragamuffins.  god, their poor waiter. 

christine doesn’t know if he’s screwing with her at this point or if he really is trying to get her to cave. she squints at him a little, too tired for his shenanigans.  “ why would you get a goodnight kiss? ”

OH GOD SO MANY.

the first one to spring to mind is definitely natasha. how did they bridge the gap after she found out nat worked for SHIELD and was effectively sent to spy on tony? you know they’re bffs now, but i’m dying to know how they got there.

and then -- maria hill. maria spent so much time in the tower and i know she and pep forged a fast friendship. we’ve never even seen them in the same room before, but i know they’re friends, 100%.

and also ??? pepper ??? meeting the avengers ??? like clearly they all know pep because nearly all of them have made reference to her in some way, shape, or form in canon, but again, we’ve never seen pep in the same room as any of them. i would especially like to know how pepper and steve came to be friends. was pepper annoyed with him at first, because of tony’s dislike for him? or did she form her own opinion of him on her own?

HER FEET FEEL LIKE LEAD WEIGHTS.  that couldn’t possibly be because she’s spent the majority of the last eighteen hours on them. definitely not. she’s trying to think of anything else on her walk to the subway: the gardenia & jasmine bath bomb waiting at home and the bottle of wine she plans to open and make a  significant  dent in. she’s just about to cross over to the next block when the car slows and sidles to the curb next to her. this would be a tad concerning if she didn’t immediately recognize the rims. 

christine drops her head in vexation and  shakes  it as the passenger side window lowers.  “ you’re headed the wrong way aren’t you? ”  she comments knowingly, not even looking his way. she’s getting used to this song and dance and that in itself is  aggravating.  all because she gave in once. one time. he doesn't let anything go  -----  that’s what makes him a good surgeon.  

“ i think it’s time you recalibrate your gps. ”  despite her annoyance at getting followed again, there’s some exasperated amusement in her voice.

          She didn’t understand it. How Drizella could look upon her and not see how… How strange she was, how lost she could be, how she was far less than what Drizella deserved —— Alice knew what she was, but maybe part of it was because she didn’t feel lost around the other woman. Maybe part of it was because Drizella didn’t treat her like some weirdo, and maybe Alice didn’t feel that way around her. But it still made no sense to her.
