The background was very tricky, trying to emulate that distinct painterly look with digital isn't something I have a lot of practice with. But I'm getting there!

As mentioned in this post, Hanna is based off the loose and curly linework of Al Hirshfeld. Cobalt Cur, however, is more inspired by the sharp, dynamic angles of Bruce Timm and Stephen Silver:
