Especially if it happens during tickling. Basically, he is a bit of a hypocrite about tickling and love.

-🟡His voice often sounds like he is growling, hissing or snarling even when he doesn't want to. It's like he has phlegm in his throat that he refuses to cough up. It's because not only the position of his jaw disables lots of the movement from his tongue, but also his damaged vocal cords mess words and pronunciation of the words too.
-🟡His own laughter suffers from this a lot. He literally "can't giggle" - or convinced himeelf that he can't - because of how terrible it sounds. It's sounds like "grgrgrgr" or "hrhrhrhr" or straight up growling. It is disgusting to him because he has lots of guilt and self hatred towards the accident that broke his jaw and injured his vocal cords, as he believes that it's his fault that he got hurt and deserved everything that happened to him - the shame, the medical neglect and the exile. Hell, he "knows" that it is, its just that he doesn't want anyone to confirm it to his face and some part of him is convinced that as soon as someone hears his "pathetic" giggling, they'll blame him for his disability and "confirm" his thoughts. Therefore, he does it before anyone else as a defence and coping mechanism. He calls it gross and disgusting and any degrading name under the sun for preparation for the other side's negativity.

While laughter is a little bit more clearer than his giggling; hard laughter like belly laughter or hysterical/screaming laughter will put intense pressure on his vocal cords and might make him have sore throat if it goes on for so long. The difference is that he is more confident with his laughter and how it sounds, but at the expense of his throat.
-🟡The solution is not lingering on his worst and weakest spots for too long and give him multiple breaks, both by stopping and going for his middle ticklish spots - lower belly, sides and neck - before returning back to them. This will prevent him from having negative thoughts or cut off any that was forming and just enjoy the tickling in all degrees. He is an energetic fireball, after all, he'd totally get it if someone just had to switch spots multiple times. Them doing this break - and - switch for the sake of his entertainment would add to his entertainment.

He also has Equinophobia/Hippophobia, fear of horses which also includes ponies, donkeys and mules, as the result of his childhood attack. Basically other than pig and goats, he is deadly afraid of most hoofed animal as well as their hooves and legs.
