Swithc lighting outlets can be created in most spaces to control LED lighting panels and strips. Use this tutorial as a template for your home.
This Kitchen lighting is a plug and play system using plug in power supplies, custom flex strips and several cables. The power supplies are plugged into switched outlets that were installed above the cabinets so that the customer could turn the lights on and off from a wall switch.
Measure available space for flex:
Start by measuring out the entire length of the area where the flex strips will be mounted. Once you have the full measurement of an area, you will need to subtract 3” in order to make room for the cable connectors on each side. For this project, the customer had to measure out lengths for the tops of the cabinets and for the underside of the cabinets. Before measuring the cabinets, it is good idea to know where you plan on mounting the flex strips.
