tumblr user: hi i can't use a feature that's crucial to this site's functionality and it's been going on longer than it should
tumblr staff: look! rainbow text posts!
The first thing they saw was also the last they saw. A mighty blowtorch, the fire that would otherwise scorch the average wayfarer merely brought sweat to her impassioned face. They knew from the sheer effortlessness she handled the material metal was her ally, her soldier. She in every way was a Lady, a Lady of war.

@leatherheadsmuth THAT IS LITERALLY THE FIRST THING I THOUGHT TOO @beach-bummer-jellyfish yep. see, i actually liked the live action movie to a degree, it's hard not to like jim carrey. but the movie's biggest failing was that backstory that went nowhere. like there's a scene where the mayor gives him a razor and that's it. they mayor wasn't even a necessary character because the grinch didn't need a villain and you know there's gonna be a villain character in this adaptation because of course kids are stupid enough to need clear distinctions of right and wrong with no moral gray area like in the lorax the more i think about it the more cynical i become
galaxy, mightnight, candlelight
galaxies: what are three things you want to do before you die?
Learn more about myself so I can feel better in general; connect with someone and maybe start a family; have a place I can call home.
midnight: are you a different person late at night than in the early morning?
Nah, I’m always me, your friendly lizard neighbour.
candle light: are you an indecisive person?
I don’t think I am. I do question myself a lot and reflect on things quite a bit, asking myself whether that’s the best decision I can make, but if I have to make a call I’ll make it.

the corn syrup drought briefly mentioned is more fascinating than anything in the book tbh
CORN SYRUP DROUGHT?!
listen. i literally just went on a huge rant bc of the iron giant segment. i’m still mad about it. how do you even have such a superficial understanding of something you literally make such a HUGE part of the movie? granted, i already know it’s because they couldn’t get the license for Ultraman so they had to make do, but come on.
