So far I have two pieces that I need to turn into an actual belt. According to my reference pictures, Aayla’s belt has leather strips hanging on the sides over her legs. I guess they serve as closure, since this apron-like belt has no buckle.
I did a quick fitting test and marked where I wanted to rut the strips. Due to the lack of proper tools I once again improvised to make the holes: pierced a little hole with the big needle, then made a cross on it with the cutter and finally enlarged the hole by pushing a chopstick through it.
I used the needle to get the leather strips through the holes, in a diagonal way, to secure both pieces of the belt and tied them in the back. The strips are wide enough for not to slip through the holes easily, so the belt stays in place. To put it on I just widen the gap by pulling the strips on the one side and the secure it back.
Fun fact: the leather strips I used are actually more expensive than the actual belt, as they cost 5EU (it’s real leather so... ok).
As seen in the last picture, the sides of the belt are not sticking together, but I’m going to solve that with some hidden velcro.
