Coding and Hacking Work Schedule
Currently I'm using the Pomodoro technique. This involves working in 25 minute blocks. Each Pomodoro (25 minute block) is an intense work session, no distractions etc.
I'm finding this very helpful. I think of my time in terms of Pomodoro's and when I'm planning my day I think of how many coding/hacking poms I want to get done.
I'm currently aiming to do 5 coding poms and 5 hacking poms each day. I.e 4 hours and 10 minutes of work per day. On top of this, I'll often read a hacking/coding book as well. I don't time this.
I say 'hacking', but in reality I mean anything that I feel is helping me improve at hacking. So right now I'm not doing any hacking, but I'm learning how to use Linux, which is useful in relation to hacking.
So, in the interest of sharing how I'm getting on. Here's my work diary so far in Pomodoro's:
30/3/14 - 3 Coding Pom's.
31/3/14 - 5 Coding Pom's.
10/4/14 - 5 Coding Pom's & 5 Hacking Pom's.
11/4/14 - 5 Coding Pom's & 5 Hacking Pom's.
12/4/14 - 5 Coding Pom's & 1 Hacking Pom.
13/4/14 - 5 Coding Pom's & 5 Hacking Pom's.
14/4/14 - 3 Hacking Pom's.
15/4/14 - 3 Coding Pom's.
17/4/14 - 5 Coding Pom's & 1 Hacking Pom.
I should mention, I've not yet finished working today (17/4/14) but this is how it is as of writing.
I set my 5/5 target on the 10th. So far, not bad, could be better.
