Hi, Tumblr. For some quick context, I'm a fairly neurodivergent person. I don't know if you could tell by me... being on Tumblr, but...yeah. The running theory is Audhd, but I'm still in the diagnosis process (that rhymes depending on how you pronounce process) so y'know.
I love reading. I've always loved reading. I'm a big reading nerd. I've read book after book for many years. I've experienced getting in trouble for reading too much in actual libraries. I love reading. I loved it a lot more when I was little. I got lost in other activities, it can be hard to find time. but slightly important reason I stopped reading as much was non-fiction began to get... hard. It never told me quite what I was looking to learn and the lines blur together like crazy. Little kid non-fiction is covered in pictures and huge line breaks, but adult- the things I have to read to learn the important stuff nowadays- plain line after plain line. Even in fiction it's all just started to blur together, mostly when I read on screens, which I've never preferred for the exact reason that the lines get so confusing.
The point is I recently found out about line readers or rulers or whatever they're called. And Holy Shit. I have never... what. Google has extensions for these things and they are game changers. They don't solve the whole problem of reading is hard for my stupid microwaved brain, but it's spectacular. Why did no one tell me, I mean. I'm stupefied (That's a stupid word to spell btw.) I love it, it's amazing. I've only seen them online but I bet they sell physical ones. I'm going to find one and buy it.
I'm far from being the first person to suggest we might be living in a computer simulation or some sort of end-stage capitalism prison planet. There's no real, definitive proof or way that anyone could have chosen to even be born. That's true regardless of if you're religious, spiritual, agnostic or atheist.
If you're a natalist of some type, ask yourself why. Ask yourself if there is a real moral and ethical reason to allow more kids to be born, which doesn't involve egotism. It's only rational to explore the reasons for why we hold views. Use both logic and gut feeling equitably. It's boring to just believe what a lot of people around you are saying, and not even consider anything else. Is fitting in really so important that you're willing to be bored / boring? It's no wonder so many people are suffering from loneliness; they're lacking curiosity about anything that requires more than the attention span of a fruit fly.
Find things you can become curious about, and find other people to calmly discuss them with. Remember that you're online and can talk to any type of person, anywhere in the world, about anything, at no extra charge. Stop endlessly doomscrolling and watching random forgettable clips.
Once again, I have fallen down a rabbit hole of getting really into niche history of a city I have never visited. Which is always a good time. But it recently occurred to me that I have never had much interest in Boston? Which is weird given that it is the closest Big City to where I live. (Maybe? Montréal might be closer. I should look that up.)
This is my first time trying to draw animals! The dog is Buck, a golden retriever belonging to my Infamous OC Billy. The rats are Abby and Snip, they belong to my friend LobotomizedLemon's OC Alessia.

Hey friends, do any of you have recommendations for learning about Buddhism or Hinduism (or other non-Abrahamic traditions)? Trying to branch out more in my comparative religion nerdery, and obviously I can and will also search for resources myself, but I don't know enough yet to evaluate possible options. I love books, but podcasts or YouTube videos (things I could listen to while crafting) would also be great!
You know, i kinda liked school. Excluding the teachers, and the grades, and the other students, and the food, and the schedule, and the building, of course.
