Leaf Blowing

A man blows some leaves in a park in Oslo, Norway. Found In: Oslo
I feel like I hear out of my right ear better than my left
I wonder how far we’d have to go in this day in age to write a dystopian novel. Like most of the things older ones wrote about are pretty much happening now so. Where do we go from here?

City trying to off leaf blowers
So in case you ever wonder what exactly it is that the City Council does with its time and your money, here's a really great example.
They are launching a full investigation into whether or not leaf-blowers are too damn loud.
Lots of citizens complaints have prompted the Council to ask the Department of Planning and Development to look into whether "the leaf blowers people are using are too old, are louder than what the city ordinance allows and if anything can be done about the emissions from the gas generators."
This is some next level Leslie Knope "No Problem Too Small" bullshit. The report scope is for a full year starting now (at the end of leaf season) and is due Sept. 30, 2014 (basically right before leaf season starts). Have these people ever even walked on wet leaves that have been sidewalking for a while? That shit is hella dangerous. And I don't see these complainers lining up with rakes to get 'er done themselves.
So, you know, lots of valuable city resources and staff hours and money to come up with probably the following conclusion: quit yer belly aching you NIMBY dicks and get over it or have fun breaking your ass slipping on wet leaves.
