LANDON: it was good to see you even if you were pissed at me [ UNSENT ]

LANDON: life's shit without you around [ UNSENT ]

LANDON: hi

[ five minutes later ]

LANDON: hey drew, it's landon

LANDON: just checking in and saying i'm alive

LANDON: hey i know u wanna punch my lights out and i get it but like

One. One by one, he needed to apologize to his family for the stunt he pulled on Thanksgiving. He’d not only hurt and embarrassed his sisters, but he also ruined their guests’ time by being belligerent and disrespectful. He’d started with Angie a couple of weeks ago, but he knew it would take more than a love declaration and sweet words to change her mind about him. His mother was a different story. No matter what happened, no matter what he did... she was there, ready to take care of him with open arms. It was easy with her, but it would be much harder to talk to everyone else. 

Two. Landon needed to change. Not like before, not just say he needed to change but actually fix his life. He was hurt, he was exhausted. If he carried on like this, he’d end up in a ditch somewhere with no one to care if he actually went missing. 

Three. Sophie was going to beat his ass. He’d been at his mother’s house, apologizing for his behavior and hanging out with her, taking time away from everyone else to be Landon. Her Landon. Neither he nor Millie were expecting Sophie, but there she was... as angry with him as she’d ever been. 

“I should go, Mom. It was good to see you.” He paused, nodding at Sophie. “Soph...” 

LANDON: uh.

LANDON: can i come over later?
