Busy, Busy Me...
Well I have been incredibly busy the past couple days, and that's why I haven't posted. Last night I was watching Notch code for Ludum Dare, and it inspired me. Today I started on Total Dominion, a mixture of Advance Wars and Risk! It's coming slowly, but I think its working!
LD22, anyone else?
Ludum Dare is about to start in 3 hours!!
I have followed some compos earlier but this time I'm in! For the first time.
Ludum Dare is a gameprogramming competition and you only got 48 hours to make a game. Before it starts everybody can vote on what theme we should follow. You can also enter the Jam which means that you have 72 hours and you can work in teams.
I'm looking forward to checkout all the cool games that will be created this weekend!! It's gonna be really fun!
If your in, good luck and happy hacking ;)
I made a game during lunch yesterday.
In preparation for the awesome Ludum Dare I made a warm up game prototype yesterday.
It isn't very much of anything yet. It is supposed to be the main elements of a strategy game boiled down into a 3 button game.
Objective:
Defeat the opposing player by getting either a rock, paper or scissor minion to the other side. Each minion will cancel out an RPS style their opposing type.
Controls:
1:Rock
2:Paper
3:Scissors
TODO: (THIS IS JUST A PROTOTYPE TO TEST CODE)
replace keyboard controls with mouse buttons(touch controls later).
AI for opposing player
delay on minion spawn(for every 1/60th of a second you hold down 1,2 or 3)
minion pathfinding/AI(minion will automatically go for the nearest of its opposing type, if none there go for player.)
Intro/tutorial/how to play
Win/Loss screen
buttons for RPS behind spawn points
Animations for minions(extra/fluff)
Hopefully during lunch I will be able to get the AI stuff working (Minions and NPC)
Play it here (NOT INDICATIVE OF FINAL PRODUCT) duh
