Bittersweet: Has someone you loved ever hurt you? 

“… Yeeees?” Hesitance caused him to drag out the word before he sighed. “Yes. And I assume you mean more than the average bumps that every relationship goes through. Friendships and otherwise. But it was not out of malice.” At least he didn’t think so. He was at the point of completely avoiding the person now and pretty much afraid to mend any type of bridge at this point. Not sure he wanted that anyway. “It was what it was. But in the end it was necessary, and I turned out fine. I actually turned out better than fine. If not for that, I would not be where I am happily today.”

Candy Apple: How do you think others view you?

Now there was a question if he ever heard one. Christian bristled a little as the old worry of being “perceived a certain way” threatened to come back. He’d cared way too much about that at the past. Even to the point of self destruction. But now? “I… do not entirely care. Actually, I don’t.” Everyone did. A little. But he was being general. “But I have been told many times that I can be intimidating and, or, standoffish when first meeting people.”

Sky Blue: Where do you feel the most at home?

“In my literal home, here in Seoul.” Christian stopped and then slowly blinked as if the answer surprised even himself. “Apparently. Yes… I would definitely say in Seoul.”

Kitten Gray: Do you have any pets? If so, describe them.

“No, not exactly. She is not my pet, but I still care for her… She being the most ill-behaved cat I have ever seen. No shelves are safe. But I admit she is adorable otherwise.”

Cosmic Cobalt: What’s your zodiac sign, and do you think it’s accurate?

“According to the internet, I’m a Sagittarius.” He looked up from his phone and shrugged. “That means nothing to me. But,” he added looking back down to read the sign’s usual traits. Weirdly enough there was a lot that matched.  “Ah, wonderful. It seems that I am horribly predictable… I do love to travel. And being restricted or trapped really is one of my greatest fears… Honest to the point of being tactless? Ah. Hm. I don’t like this.”

Purple Mountains Majesty: How does someone earn your respect?

Kwon was more than happy to help someone, anyone, learn how to play new instruments. It was hard, usually, for people to learn on their own- even harder to ask for help. But if there was interest there, that interest, he thought, should be nurtured. It was sad to see people not following their interests only because they didn’t have access to them or because they had no one to help them learn.

So when Val brought up that he wanted to learn piano, Kwon may have come off as a little too eager to help him. He couldn’t help it- he was enthusiastic! While he knew a fair number of instruments, the piano was his favorite. It was the first he’d learned, and the one he held the biggest passion for. Something about it was so delicate, fleetingly beautiful yet timeless. He would have helped Val learn any instrument he’d asked about, but Kwon was especially happy that he was most interested in learning this.

The keyboard Kwon had at home was rather nice, nicer than the old ones that his poor students were stuck learning with. But he’d saved up plenty of money to buy something high quality. If he couldn’t fit a grand piano in his little apartment, then he had to settle for second best. He brought it out of his bedroom, set it up in the living room instead so that there would be more space, then checked the time. Val should be here any second...
