For the first question: It’s complicated. Cody’s memories will be a little plot point in the future. Second: We’ll have to see about that. But bullying Tarkin is always in effect for LC.

How does Vader get his lightsaber back? Does 2224 return it without a single hair out of place? Or does he have to reclaim it from 2224 on his way to have a 'conversation' with Tarkin?
Whatever the circumstance, there’s a good chance of Vader putting 2224 in “air jail” until his lightsaber is returned.
