Really hard one, but I’ve gotta go with Avenge. I like how it varies depending on what Mii it’s effecting (My MC ends up sobbing, and the others either get angry or just get an immediate turn with no other effect). Honorable mention goes to Share because it’s cute.

Personality: Favorite player mii character personality?

Laid-Back or Stubborn. I like the facial expression the Stubborn ones make when using a lot of their abilities, and the Laid-Back ones have some funny animations and abilities.

I was very outspoken about this on twitter, but there are legitimately folks who complained about the choice of making the koopalings bosses and I never understood it. I remember folks wanting representation for them so badly last decade, now they’re treated with so much love - giving each of them character, esp in Paper Mario’s witty writing style. That combined with people saying ‘it feels like they’re trying to shove them in’ makes no sense and feels more like a reach

I had a lengthy debate here on Tumblr with some people around E3 when Morton was confirmed (which basically confirmed the rest of them since they’re almost always a package deal)

A good chunk of the fandom has this mindset that anything from the main series is inferior to original characters and settings by default.

I’d prefer some middle ground. More original characters and diverse NPC designs than Sticker Star adn Color Splash had, but there’s no reason to make the cast 100% original like Super Paper Mario’s and completely outlaw bringing in existing characters. The series has a ton of characters that need the fleshing out that RPGs provide. And unlike the OCs, these characters are ones that will appear again. As much as I love the original characters the RPGs introduce, most of them are one-time-only.
