Hey squirt. I wanted to stick in something, too. I don't have a whole lot to say. Or maybe I do. I don't know, yet.
I haven't been here long. Though I've known Gabriel for a very long time. He always spoke of the blue eyed girl who made all of his dreams come true. The way he smiled for you was infectious, and I vowed one day to want to meet you. Here I am, "oh god elves exist!" tolerance and all.
And with my kind, we develop bonds quickly that transcend lifetimes. I already love you quite deeply. The way you carefully calculate your every move one minute, and then trip over your own two feet the next. The way that smile spreads through the room like a hungry flame through a forest, or the way everyone gets hushed when that smile disappears. Or maybe it's how soothing you can be. Like a light rain. Washing away everything bad that it touches and replaces it with something new.
I like that. Bela, to me, you are the rain. The rain is fierce, and powerful. It cab flood and destroy, and with the wind can wipe things off the map entirely. And yet can be gentle, loving, caressing seeds into flowers into plants that feed and nurture and make the world so very beautiful. Rain is needed, essential. Without it, the flowers would all dry up. The animals would go thirsty, and the entire world would go from magnificent to nothing. All because that rain cloud decided to shrivel up. The birds could no longer bathe. The animals, with no beautiful shade to bask beneath. No cool grass to pad or roll around on. Not even lovers with roses to surprise their partners with. Because there wasn't any rain. The world sucks itself dry without water. When all it needs is a gentle storm, a quiet breeze, to refresh the life. To give a religious experience to a starving man bathing himself for the first time in weeks naked in the rain beneath that one cloud. There is a quote in Gabe's head, I will post it as my closure in this:
"I collapsed onto the bottom bunk and thought, 'if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.' " -Looking for Alaska, John Green.
