Bleeding Out - Imagine Dragons
There werenāt many people on the battlefield at this point. Konoha had become a desecrated wasteland. Collapsed buildings, wreckage, everyone heād ever loved. At the hands of the Akatsuki, were dying.
Asuma took flight, his legs carrying him across the muddy battlefield that was once Konoha. His eyes were scanning the devestation, his heart pounding.
Inoā¦Shikamaruā¦Chojiā¦they were here somewhere, fighting without him.āAnd that was the best caseĀ scenario.
Ā Running along, he was initially looking for his team. He was distracted by the sight of someone; moving; alive.
His reddish-brown eyes pinpointing someone else he recognized.
Skidding to a hault, nearly tripping over the debris, he changed course. There on the battlefield, apparently wounded, the Hyuga girl. He recognized her; Hinata-chan. She graduated from the academy with Ino. There was always the chance that she even could have been on his team.Ā
Immediately he went towards her. He would not abandon anyone that he could save. He was at her side in moments.Ā
She turned giant, lavender eyes on him, rimmed with nervous tears, pale skin, clammy and greenish. āHinata-chan.ā He called her name, crouching down.
(Why did he suddenly crave a cigarette)ā-(Probably to calm his nerves)
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā these unbelievableĀ
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā eyesā¦.
He peered at her, as a tendril of blood leaked from a wound on her head, a gash through her flak jacket that reveal an open wound near her ribs.
She stuttered something incomprehensible, and he frowned at her. āYo, Hinata-chan. Weāre gonna get outta here now, eh?ā He reached down to touch her, his hands moving slowly as he hesitated. He was no medic, he didnāt know what kind of injuries she had, but heād be damned if he was going to leave her alone.
"I-Iā¦I have aā-" Her words were lost on him as his forearm slipped beneath the bend of her knees, his right arm sliding around her back.Ā
"Donāt worry about that now." He said, his tone a little gruff, "I know what Iām doing." He assured her.
Did he really? ā-Hell no.
He lifted her immediately, and she clutched her arms around his neck, her cheeks growing pink suddenly, and a soft gasp of pain escaping her chapped lips.
He was sorry for her pain, ābare through it, eh. Itās just the way it is. I canāt heal you, but I can get you outta here.ā He reminded her, saying it out loud like a prayer.
If it was the last thing he did, he would save this girl. Holding her petite frame against him, his eyes scanned the distance.
Her head came up to his chin, the blood from her forehead rubbing off on his skin.
"Weāre gonna get outta here."
Iāll wonāt let you down, Hinata-chan.
