#laurel ms

As my first post, I'd like to share with you a beautiful museum hiding in Laurel, MS. As many of you may know, the show "Home Town" on HGTV is filmed in Laurel and it is full of gorgeous and fun places. The Lauren Robert's museum is just one of them. They allow you to take pictures there, so I took a TON! However I will post just my favorites to showcase what you can expect when you enter the historic building.

As you can see just from these pictures, the museum consists of so many different styles. I am positive you will find something you like.

There are multiple stories to the building, however there is an option to use elevators or stairs. The stairs are a beautiful piece to see, so I recommend at least taking a peek.

The last picture (bear and ballerina in black and white) was part of the special exhibit that they change up every few months. When I went and took these pictures, they were part of the Power of Photography exhibit in the basement.

The gift shop was small, but had so many cute and useful items for purchase. They were fairly expensive, but most were handmade or novelty items so I understand that.

Yesterday, I made the drive from Aiken, SC to Hixson (Chattanooga), TN and then onto Lake Charles, LA, where I overnighted, before getting to Houston, TX this morning.  Yes, it was a long day  (16 hours driving) and I was tired enough so that when I stopped, I settled for a $55.00  room at a Motel 6 with a  “no soliciting”  sign taped on the wall outside my room.  Bedbug check was negative, but I…
