Terror. That's what it was, the thing that now painted every wall and crevice in this city, a stark red. Swarms of winged creatures that swooped down and tore through people before anyone could even react. Zombies in their agonizing, slow, and encroaching walk, cornering those who could no longer run, their screams drowned by crunching gurgles. Yet no harm had come to Jace. He found it odd, that he'd rescued so many people from the outside, but as soon as they were in his store, the zombies and bats would go elsewhere. He managed to save a few others, but their panic surged, and they ran off, and before he could stop them, they were gone.
Jace saw someone walking past his door, and before his mind even prompted the thought, his body acted, pulling the other inside through the door, phasing him through matter. As soon as he locked eyes with the other, he held a finger to his own mouth. A bat had landed on the street, carrying off with another survivor. He sighed, once the immediate danger had passed.
"Sorry, they've been circling for a while, so I had to pull you in the moment I saw you. You'll be safe in here; for some reason, they don't attack my store. I'm Jace." @heroescue
