First of I love you and personally I love your music, especially the style and genre you usually sing in. Secondly, I am thinking of starting to become a singer/songwriter so I'm wondering if there is any tips on how to create (write and compose the music) a good song?
First off, thank you so much!
The main thing you need to know about songwriting is that its weird. Some days you’ll be able to knock out song after song and other’s everything you write will be so cheesy, but you need to write the rubbish stuff to get the good stuff out.
You need to just play and sing all the time, muck around with odd chords and awkward harmonies. Most of my songs come from accidents! It’s often easiest to start with a chorus because then you’ve always got something to go back on.
As for lyrics, just write whatever’s on your mind. If you’re stuck pick a random word and then think of what it reminds you of. (Like whispers; quiet, secretive, gentle, kind… you can go from there to write lines and build on it).
This is going to sound completely crazy but write about the little things. I once wrote a song about stepping on Lego. I took all the thoughts I had on that, which is alot because it hurts, then wrote it but didn’t actually include the word Lego so no one actually knew. I hope that makes sense!
The best advice I can give you is just write, write, play, sing, write. Keep doing it and you’ll get there! Also I’d love to hear anything if you do post your songs online. :)

Winds up usually being about once a week but I’m gunna be sorta busy working on traditional art for upcoming conventions for a bit so there might be fewer for a while.
