Very tentative and growing list?, but so far:

Latro and JS met like way back during their early 20s. JS was just starting his job with Fudge Motors Workshop and Latro was a Grade 5 Fixer with a now-defunct Office. Her previous Office used weapons made by Fudge Motors.

JS was the one to fall head over heels for her first. Would you believe he was a charmer back then. He's funny, like, he'd always opt to fix Latro's weapon to get a chance to chat with her.

SPEAKING OF WHICH. JS literally custom made the sword to propose to her.

Latro was promoted to Taboo Hunter and JS was promoted to head weaponsmith almost at the same time. By N Corp standards these two were pretty well off.

When Fudge Motors declared bankrupt after the Smoke War, Latro would, by all honesty, be fine with JS being laid off. But, JS being JS, he doesn't want to burden everything on Latro.

And he ends up taking Hermann's job offer without Latro's explicit knowledge. Which dominos to All Shit Fuck Going To Hell.

Now she wants to kill him so bad after The Incident - so far as literally grabbing the Golden Bough with her. She stabs JS with the bough, causing the split.

Latro, seeing All That Is Wrong: man what the fuck is THAT

In game style, JS gains a debuff status when faced with Latro.

In game style, during her fight, Latro would have a passive that literally reads "Inflict +3 Aggro and Deal +10% damage to any JS identities". She wants this man DEAD.

BUT, in turn of events, when she does aid JS in fighting Blank Slate in the final boss, the passive remains the same, but now it's targeted towards Blank Slate.

These two do end up separating in the end of the Canto, but honestly it was probably for the best. Latro still doesn't forgive him, but does send him off in a more positive note and wishes him well.
