A scuffle of crackling escapes him in an electronic sigh. His sight lenses refocus, giving better view of his peripherals to better take in the unit sitting in the corner, so regular now in his office it usually went unnoticed.
He inwardly smiled to himself, standing, balancing just slightly forward on the hinges where organic knuckles would be. Then he straightened, head high then turning in a slow, deliberate gesture toward the other inorganic in the room with him. “Bastion,” he called smoothly. His expensive Italian shoes clicked on the hardwood of the office as he made for the door, which had been made wider to accommodate his pet. He didn’t look back, no doubt it would follow him. “I’m to make a public announcement in a few minutes,” here he turned. An organic man might have smirk, but he contented himself to raise his head slightly, extending the hand which had stroked it earlier, “and I’ll need you to ensure my safety.”
