I went back to the beginning.

These were taken in the settlement of Last Log, the furthest east you can go on the map. It's a drab little place, all tree stumps and smoke and iron. And it's the place where I fell in love with the Oseram all over again (again).

It's also another place where the npcs down tools and run for cover when it starts to rain.

I feel like, when I'm taking shots, most Oseram tend to favour warm light - it highlights all those orange tones, helps to emphasise their generally casual and (usually) welcoming nature, and puts me in mind of the solid wood and ever-present forge fires of their homes. But I went the other way here, desaturating the colour to mirror the somewhat bleak surroundings and grey/rainy weather conditions. I quite liked the result.

Whilst I love the shakespearean am-dram poses of #9, my favourites here are the ones of the guy chopping the tree. As it's a settlement and you can't move the camera, I was trying to get close to him for the shot, which made him keep stopping. Every time he did he said something along the lines of "Careful there - we're not losing any fingers on my watch!" and "Easy Red, we've not had an accident for 32 days!" He was very friendly about it.
