Planning to reread Ikigai and La Douleur today and I think I want to hurt myself more because imagine a soulmate + hanahaki au with Sylus, where twin non mc is his soulmate.
He does not accept it because it must be a glitch and anomaly, how come you're the soulmate when mc exists and he can feel the other half of his soul in her while a small fragment only resides in you.
He does not know though that that fragment, the part of his soul that calls to him also carries all the memories of the previous lives. You already accepted your fate though, convinced that by dying, Sylus and the other half of you might have a happier end this time.
By the time Sylus realizes that it's you who carried the memories, who remembered him, who loved him still despite all his rejections, it's already too late. What's left are the black roses scattered in your room, its smell mixed with the scent of your blood.
Ooh this is fire. Might just write this at some point (with, of course, crediting you), with a few versions.
One with a bitttersweet ending where Sylus meets you in the next life and decides to do better.
Another where you end up with someone else.
Another where you just learn to love yourself and tell him to fuck off.
And the last where character development and communication wins and the two get a happy ending in this life.
