#Repost @lashchronicles ・・・ Sometimes I carve a little time out of my schedule to work on a model (Alright, who am I kidding, A LOT of time 🤣) - When working to perfect your volume technique, you simply cannot expect to just “practice” on your clients and see a huge improvement in your work. - Why? When you’re working on clients you are under pressure to perform & you’re probably working under time constraints. You are also working on regulars coming back in for touch ups (which never look as perfect as a fresh set) and even when working with a new client, we don’t always have the creative freedom to work on the techniques we want to perfect and then we have the added pressure of thinking “Is my client comfortable, do they think I’m taking too long, do they REALLY want them this full, etc” - Keeping all of this in mind, I think it’s extremely important to work on models in order to perfect your technique. When working on a model, you can take as much time as you need (schedule a lunch break if you have to) take as many pictures/videos/boomerangs as your heart desires and style them exactly how you see fit! They get a free set in exchange for their time = win/win - Another option (this idea is straight from the queen herself @lashmakers) if you don’t have 4-5 hours to work on a volume model: Hire someone by the hour to work on just one eye, take your photos & then remove the lashes. I thought this idea was genius!
