ok, i had to draw a larva Cell too now xD
to think that Cell used to be a small little grub... he must have been so adorable as a fat little squishy
Had the angsty and cute idea of Cell getting critically hurt and thinks of the only way to preserve energy and heal: he reverts back to his larval state. So then Gohan is tasked with making sure he's taken care of and all so Cell can grow again.
Cell remains highly intelligent, though he can't communicate verbally, so he and Gohan figure out a way for Gohan to understand what he wants/needs. He starts off small and grows steadily.
Imagining Gohan cuddling a larva Cell at night is too cute. And Cell snuggling against him like the size of a small puppy at first and then getting bigger and bigger 😄
