I don't know how many times one gets to meet his / her heroes, but i my case it doesn't happen everyday. I was lucky enough though, when a friend of mine offered me to record and mix the sound for James in a live video session they did for Disorder magazine. 

My connection to James is one of many years. I was exposed to them as a teenager back in the early 90's, when alternative and indie bands made MTV so much more appealing. As a young 22 year old dreamer in the streets of Tel Aviv I once did a cover of the band's iconic track, Born Of Frustration in front of a few hundred people. For those of you who don't know the song, its repeated motive is reflected in rather wild yodels singer Tim Booth was singing. I remember raising a few eyebrows in the crowd by (trying) to repeat them. Many people I knew at the time got exposed to the band thanks to my love for the group's very unique vibe.

Upon getting to London James remained one of the only bands I kept listening to, even after all the changes that occurred to me, both personally and musically. London changed me but I found different shades in their music. I saw the band live twice in 2008, one of the times was in a secret show in Hoxton, which was announced on their myspace page (remember those?!) on the very same day. They sounded great and even turned to be rather down to earth as people as I've managed to have a quick word with some of the band members at the end of that secret gig.

This time around it wasn't different. After a quick sound check the band played a couple of new track that sounded as good as anything they'd ever done in the past, you could tell the magic was still there. I caused a feedback to Tim Booth's in - ear device, which will probably remain with me for the rest of my life as one of the most embarrassing moments I've had, but the band was very friendly and welcoming despite that and I am very proud of the end result, which could be found on these links:
