why is he talking to skeppy like he is his dead friend? there's a line to be drawn, man, i can't believe people are acting like this is normal or even ENCOURAGING it?? i've been seeing comments saying this is "techno's reincarnation." No The Fuck He Isnt!!! do you see how insane and parasocial and weird that is????????

its so freaky and horrible and disrespectful! the man is dead! people have to accept that! not pretend he came back through some random guy who happens to be able to do an impression of him. if you miss him, watch his old videos; there are literally thousands! and the money directly supports his family and the sarcoma foundation!

As I am writing this Technolarp is having a stream to celebrate 100k subs, while for compression Larpiplier the men who started the whole concept of larpTubers is sitting at 130k.

Probably an important part of why Technolarp is this popular is because he nails his Techno impression. His voice is almost perfect, and the humor can get really close. The only part he lacks are the pvp /game skills witch is a minore problem even though he can't really use "Technolarp never dies".

But a large part of this popularity comes from how much Techno was missed. Even 3 years after his death I keept seeing new fanarts, people searching all if his old vids and finding "new" clips. When Dream was accused of cheating for the n-th time, one of the most popular videos on that subject was stating that he was using aim assist in the 100k duel.

I remember few months after techno died I tried to find someone "like" Technoblade. He was my favorite YouTuber, and even though his upload schedule was never really accurate, and it disappeared entirely for his finale few months it still felt weird without him. I tried few different YouTubers, I tried Philza since he was often on Techno's streams and was funny there, I tried Redoons since people on r/Technoblade said he's similar, I believed for a while that the guy that dozed a scammer and had a similar voice would be a good substitute(sorry forgot his name). But non of them where Technoblade.

I have been searching for Technoblade in people who weren't him, and wouldn't be him. Even now sometimes when I find a new YouTuber I think to myself "this feels kind of like techno" I give that YouTuber more time to convince me to stay because I just don't want to give up that sense of familiarity.

I miss Technoblade, just like a lot of other people who are willing to subscribe and make fanart of a person simply pretending to be him.,and if I where to guess probably Technolarp misses him too.

Technolarp is not Technoblade, and never will be. But he does fulfill that familiarity so many of us miss. And that I think is enough, at least for now.

And like, I cant tell people who were friends with him how to cope, but I think Skeppy is weird as hell for playing with him, and while playing with the other dsmp "Larpers" (including a Larpbur soot? An ABUSER?) , i dont think is a space where he should enter. But tbh idk whats up with Skeppy this years, I just see people talking about how he avoids bbh or smt like that and in general as been weird

i genuinely dont feel like it's my place to say nothing, as i was not part of the mcyt community while techno was still around, so all appreciation i have for him come from finding his content post him having passed (for this, it certainly helped that my gateway into mcyt was philza), but like. even then i could easily tell you that that shit felt SO disrespectful

in general, i feel like the entire larp-tube trend going on is weird as hell, like if you want to be a content creator do it with your own voice and self, not trying to recreate someone else's success for yourself

it feels like they are saying "i want to do this type of content, but i dont trust that i will be unique enough to not be told im copying another content creator, so im gonna shield myself by claiming im just larping as said creator". and with a content creator that no only passed away, but also left a ton of people mourning him (many of the who were kids when he passed, meaning they maybe didnt have healthy or helpful coping mechanisms) feels insanely fucked up

and honestly, i have no idea what the fuck skeepy is doing nor do i give a fuck about it, BUT trying to recreate your glory days of 2020 with people play-pretending to be your friends from back then feels like a cry for help more than anything

Youtube comment with my thoughts on the current Technolarp situation.

I'm gonna elaborate a little more because I was trying to not get my comment deleted.

I really do think that Striker (Technolarp) fucked up royally by not checking in with Technodad and Techno's friends before deciding to pull this. You all really need to put yourself in their shoes: they watched someone they loved and cherished waste away, and then die young due to bone cancer. That is horrific.

Four years is not enough time to recover from that. So, it's just really fucked up on Striker's end to take Technodad's silence as an okay to make more videos for the Technolarp channel and even collab with Skeppy himself (a collab in which he was STILL larping as Technoblade). All this happened over weeks.

Moistcritikal was not exaggerating when he called this dude a skinwalker because that's basically what's happening here. Striker took Techno's image, his voice, his jokes, and his style to make his channel. I do understand the void that Technoblade's death left in the minecraft community, but I do find the acceptance of Technolarp content to be exceptionally bankrupt. How can you be so parasocial as to accept someone trying to act like a dead person right down to letting one of the friends of this person feature him in a collab?

Again. All this. Without so much as a reply from Technodad.

And I understand that Skeppy reached out to Technolarp first, but how the fuck does that make this better? No really. Explain. He kept up the Technoblade act in the collab and kept acting like this dude's dead friend. I'm sorry, but this should've been where Striker said no to the collab. It's sinister as fuck. And fuck Skeppy for not checking in with Techno's other friends and his FUCKING FATHER, before doing this.

To put it in the words @/passerineau, that channel is built upon somebody's corpse. And mind you, that somebody painfully died from bone cancer. It's literally built upon the blood, sweat, and tears of another person who died tragically at a point where he never got to fully experience life.

Was it malicious? No. I don't think so. I think the fact Striker made the Technolarp persona act like Technoblade 1:1 shows that he's probably a massive super fan. Really, I don't doubt he was trying to pay homage and show his love for the content of a youtuber he adored. But christ almighty dude. How did it not occur to Striker that maybe... letting people call you "techno" on streams, letting Techno's friend bring you as an imitator onto his channel, taking sponsorships as Technolarp, and pocketing some of the money you get from people donating to you is all pretty fucked up?

Worst of all was the stress on Techno's dad, he should've never had to deal with this. Reading his responses to this situation was genuinely heartbreaking.
