[email protected] web. wilkinsonyoga.co.uk Myfanwy Yoga Day Sunday 17th August 2014 10am - 12.30pm ... 2 - 4.30pm in the New Pavilion, Larmer Tree Gardens, Tollard Royal, Wiltshire, SP5 5PY.  This is a Day of Yoga to support the Foster Family - Myfanwy, Simon and their four children ages 11 to 19 years. Myfanwy has been coming to my yoga classes over the years at various venues, including Cranborne, Woodyates, Bowerchalke and Sixpenny Handley. On 22nd November 2013 she was taking one of her daughters to a local school early in the morning when her car slid and rolled on black ice. Her daughter was fine but Myfanwy fractured a vertebra in her neck and dislocated two other vertebrae. For 6 months, she has been in hospital, firstly in Southampton Intensive Care for one month and then in the Spinal Unit at Salisbury Odstock Hospital for rehab. Her injuries are known as C5 ASIA Complete which means that she is paralysed from the chest down with some use of her arms but no use of her fingers. Recently she returned home where she currently requires 2 care staff 24 hours a day to look after all her daily needs. She continues to practice yoga to the best of her ability, particularly finding great benefit from the breathing practices.  The Myfanwy Fund has been set up to raise enough money for a second-hand camper van and an off-road wheelchair, expected to be about £48,000. The camper van would be converted to include sleeping and essential washing and loo facilities (and hoist) for Myfanwy plus seating space for the rest of the family. Having a camper van and suitable wheelchair would enable them to travel together for days out, or weekends away to visit friends, family or to just go exploring. The Yoga Day on 17th August is for anyone who would like to come along and show their support while enjoying practising yoga in the Larmer Tree's recently completed fabulous New Pavilion. Suggested donations are £20 for the morning or afternoon session or £40 for the whole day, but please give whatever you feel able to. Every little bit helps and will be very gratefully received even if you do not manage to get to the yoga day itself. Thank you. Lunch can be bought from the Larmer Tree or bring a picnic to enjoy in this beautiful environment. A selection of herbal teas and biscuits will be freely available through the day.  Do phone or email if there is anything else that you would like to know, and to book your place.
