I GOT A LAPTOP! A brand new 13-in MacBook pro!

No more reliance solely on tumblr mobile!

The tipping point was work. I’ve reached the point where I need to be able to work from home, but the work laptop is... terrible, to say the least. And while I can work from my iPad, it’s just a bit impractical, especially when I need multiple docs open. And there is literally no way I can catch up on my workload this month (damn you July for having the bar. Damn you August for recovering from the bar/making me go back to that same city 2 more times within 2 more weeks) unless I can add an hour here and there before/after work and several on the weekend.

So, my brother and I headed over to The City today (well, the burbs with the nicest mall with an apple store) and under my brother’s very judgmental eyes (he’s a computer geek who built his own desktop) I got a new MacBook.

Got home, synced up with my last laptop’s backup (took 2 hours), panicked when itunes decided to download every single podcast episode of every podcast I’d ever subscribed to. Deleted a bunch of apps and the like I haven’t used since 2017 (mainly games) and literally hundreds of podcasts (damn you fast internet).

Bought Scrivener3 because Scrivener2 came out about two weeks after I fried my old laptop so I couldn’t get a free/reduced price upgrade. Re-signed into dropbox, lost the hundred or so words from Grey Dawn Breaking I wrote last night, but finally was able to access a folder I literally hadn’t been able to open for two years (Yay! I can finally work on one of my novels again!) And now I have a much easier/reliable way to get docs up on AO3!

Roommate: Did you order it already?

Me: It's at my house!

Roommate: Did you get a Dell?

Me: No...I didn't get a Rihanna either...

Roommate: *looks at me*

Me: *looks at roommate*
