More #crosstraining today in the water. Had my longest #lapswimming workout in a while at 1400 yards and it felt good. I guess the @rungum I had before it helped. Although maybe that was why I had to 💩 so bad by the end. Yes, I know, #tmi but what is it about swim workouts that do that? Note to self, if you are planning to swim at a county rec center pool this time of year, don’t show up a half hour before high school swim practices start and you get kicked out. I got a whopping 18 minute swim in for today, covering about a half mile, which for me isn’t too shabby a pace. I also tested some new nose clips for the snorkeling portions of my workout but this set failed miserably, just slipped off my nose almost every lap. New order from Amazon on the way. Other reps with the pull buoy went better. I was just getting into the heart of my workout when I was whistled out. I can’t get too upset though. As a high school sports coach myself (cross country), I really should have known better. Back to running tomorrow.

More new shoes! These aren't for running, though the @hokaoneone Hupana are perfectly capable of doing so. As a perk of working for @lifetime.run I got to pick out a free pair of Hokas. But since I'm well stocked on running shoes right now, I went for these black slip-ons as an everyday work shoe pair. Right out of the box they are amazingly comfortable. I am so glad to be back in the pool and lap swimming again. I really missed it during COVID. I thought reserving a lane in advance would be a hassle, but it's great! I don't have to share a lane, and my swimming days are in Outlook. Jim and I rejoined the Tucson Racquet Club this spring. I really want to keep swimming as long as possible. Jim and I used to swim year round at the club. Today, I bought a long-sleeved swim suit. I have been lap swimming with a swim shirt for more than a decade. Why not combine the suit and the shirt? I like this new style for sun safety and warmth. I bought this suit and matching swim skirt -- for the stylish Midtown Nana -- at Duluth Trading Co. on sale.
