A lot of people say they don’t want H!P to be marketed like traditional idols but I want them to! The Golden Era had soooo many cute goods made in house and outsourced like stickers, tons of trading cards with fun facts about the girls with different backgrounds not just white, concert performance photos, stationary, calendars. Actually I can’t even recall if H!P released 2025 calendars did they? ;-; I mean the way they manage them is traditional idol style why not push more things like that.
Similar marketing confession:
Saw some tweets from a certain group’s wota who was upset that the members of this group had stopped saying things like they want to perform at Tokyo Dome or go on Kouhaku. They thought that H!P girls had lost their drive. Some agreed with the OP and said H!P girls don’t say things like they want to become a national idol group, perform at Tokyo Dome, go on Kouhaku anymore. I think H!P members are keenly aware of the scale they’re on now and the scale that H!P can reach. It’s been a decade since UFA has been aggressive in their marketing. Morning Musume used to have massive billboards and ad campaigns for their new singles and go on many different variety shows. Nowadays UFA seems happy to have H!P at the level it’s at without reaching higher and that’s trickled down to the members, enough for wota to notice. In fact Momona was asked to say the good things about LAPONE and she said ‘unlike other companies that become more rigid and conservative’ with ‘rules becoming traditions’ while LAPONE is flexible and open minded. Don’t be surprised if the grad rush continues.
