I'll redesign the lapboard sides to incorporate this in full for a final design but to fill a gap, these shims bolt in between accessories and the main body to clamp down the keyboard for better security.
Clamps down maybe 1mm of the board but that's plenty. Busy printing a new mouse mount which is shallower and rotates the mouse mounts, also made the sketches its based on more configurable. If this still doesn't work I might design a two-part mouseboard with adjustable angles.
