I walked for miles upon miles.
I lead the men into battle better than other men could.
We shaped the world.
The sun would rise and set and the sky would be stained the same colors that lay upon the grass.
And when we took the dam birds still flew. Coyotes fed their young. Flowers bloomed.
And in the East there was a garden never to be tended to again, because the hands that had toiled it had grown still.
And the mornings smelled as they always did, and the nights let smoke drift through the air.
And it would be a lie to say I never wondered.
