IT WAS GROWING LATE, and Kubo could feel a yawn coming on. He lets his hand pause over the strings of his shamisen to rid of the urge, his drowsy lone eye staring blankly into the tall, grassy fields of Ten Carat Hill. A warm glow illuminated the little patch of dirt he and his pokemon were situated upon; Akio provided the fire, flames burning fiercely from the pores on his back. Beside the cyndaquil’s young master, vikavolt also slept, his tiny arms tucked underneath his thorax, and his wings hidden beneath the carapace.
His mother would probably be wanting them home soon. The sky had turned to a lilac, twilight sky, crisp and clear to Kubo’s view. The stars were just starting to show as the last of the sun’s stretching rays had slowly receded behind the horizon. The hills had very quickly turned to a deep azure blue, blanketed by the cover of night.
Such as a gorgeous sight. It and the quiet alone was the reason for why he stayed here, strumming his shamisen lazily. The pokemon here seemed to enjoy it; he had spent his entire afternoon here and yet not a single creature had emerged from the grass to harm him. Up in the sky, dancing among the stars, he could have sworn he saw a familiar PAPER SILHOUETTE fly overhead.
It made Kubo’s heart sink a little to know that ‘Hanzo’ was still following him, and yet, he did not know what it was. The thought of sharing his knowledge of the creature had ached in his mind for WEEKS, yet he could not muster up the guts to finally explain it to her.
Kubo leaned further against the rock he was prompted against, closing his eye in thought. He wanted to ponder it for a bit, until his drowsiness served as a cold reminder that HE SHOULD BE GETTING HOME SOON. The boy paused in strumming, his bachi resting silently against the strings of his shamisen.
He sits up again then, and continues strumming, watching as Akio’s flames began to dowse. It seems his friend, too, was drifting off under the temptation of needed rest.
Perhaps, it would be all right if he closed his eye for JUST A MOMENT... // @lanilunne
