The phone illuminates her face as she sits on the park bench ; an arm thrown casually over the back of the wooden support as Emi scrolls through messages received. It's late Incredibly too late for a 15 year old to be wandering alone with no supervision. It's comforting however. The silence that befalls the park stills her nerves & agitation. No racing thoughts plague her as she avoids returning home. Last night's medication wears off, anxiety trying to spike as well as an increasing annoyance that dwells within. While the silence helps, there's still a lingering fuzziness that overwhelms her very being. Like a thousand bugs crawling over her body ; like static in her head.
Time passes & Emi mutes her phone ; notifications flooding the screen with worried texts from her parents & sibling. It’s really time for her to go home - But the later it becomes, the more she resists the comfort of home. She’d be scolded for school performance, for not calling them to disclose her location. It’s all too much. A sudden twitch of her hand & her phone crushes in her palm.
❛❛ FUCK ! Another phone... Another fuckin’ thing to worry about... ❜❜
