The Land of Lost Content Museum - TelevisionÂ
Britain's foremost collection of pop culture ephemera, obscure and ordinary objects from the pre-digital era, Stella Mitchell’s vivid collection contains an extraordinary display of the evolution of television from the 1950′s, where she details that over 100,000 sets were sold in Britain in 1953 alone. Her collection displays not only a large display of monitors but also film cameras and memorabilia. These are only 5 of over 100 images I took within the museum. The invention of the television introduced a new form of media into the world, an incredibly exciting concept for designers, filmmakers and creatives alike. The variety of shapes and designs of the monitors themselves is incredibly interesting, such as the spaceman’s helmet styled JVC-Videosphere; a television introduced in the 1970′s as a second TV to the home, targeted at teenagers it highlighted what many believed the future would look like, influenced by the great interest in space travel in the 50′s and 60′s.Â

Yes, I saw over on lmbujold on LJ! I’m so excited. :D But the thing everyone is wondering is, of course, is this going to be chronologically post-Cryoburn or before it? I’ve long been hoping for another Cordelia book set during Miles’s childhood (because more Cordelia/Aral always makes me happy, plus baby Miles is so fun, plus baby Gregor is a darling, plus Piotr is… entertaining, and you know I’d always be fascinated by more Bothari). But Cryoburn did, um, open up certain plot avenues that (probably) weren’t available before. Unfortunately.
Is there any particular way that you organize your PSDs? I have a lot so it can take me a while to find the exact one that I want. Thanks for your time!
I usually just group them in folders? It's not especially organized, but I might have one folder for Game of Thrones, and maybe another folder for generic PSDs, and another for heavily textured PSDs, because those are usually the different categories I'm looking for when I photoshop.Â
My mac gives a preview of the PSD file, which is also really helpful. However, my pc doesn't give me a preview of the PSD, so I usually also save a jpeg with the same file name to see what the PSD looks like. I've heard of a program called MysticThumbs if you're on a windows machine, but I've never purchased it. (Maybe someone out there knows a free version that does the same thing?)Â
