Decided late last night to keep a diary of sorts. Not sure why, I just wanted to.
As of right now I am sat in a house, in a place called Landkey, which is close to Barnstaple, in Devon.
The house belongs to my partners grandparents, and we are here (along with my partners mother) for Christmas. This is the second time I’ve been here for Christmas and possibly the last for a while.
My partner is pregnant, and with any luck, will give birth some time around late may 2017. This complicates travel and sleeping arrangements and so on. At the moment it’s a case of wait and see what happens.
Landkey is a nice place. There isn’t much here in terms of shops, or things to do, but it’s wonderful for walking, sight seeing, etc.
There is a pub, The Castle Inn, and a local shop/post office. They have a village hall and so on. the closest town (at least I think, anyway) is Barnstaple.
Barnstaple is wonderful, I enjoy it quite a lot. Plethora of shops, places to eat, drink and more. From Barnstaple bus station you can make your way to a variety of great places such as westward ho! and Ilfracombe.
We arrived here yesterday, getting the train from Swindon to Tiverton and then getting picked up from there.
Today is mostly a quiet day, with little going on. I believe the meal of choice tonight is Pizza.
Tomorrow will be a trip into Barnstaple to do some final Christmas shopping and then everything stops for Christmas day.
