It had only been a garden well moments before, stacked with what appeared to be cobbled stones or maybe brick, but just as suddenly as one might blink there was a door. It swung open, and out stepped a young woman, along with the smell of the place she had been which was certainly not the other side of the wall. Herbs and spices, teas and other pleasant floral things did follow in her wake, but none of them plants native to the garden on the other side of the wall. She gently shut the door with the back of her heel as she dusted off her hands, and looked up, only to freeze.

“Oh.”

She was standing on a sidewalk in a surprisingly urban or suburban, rather, area. Mostly modernized by the look and smell. It was not where she had intended to come out, though, and the door behind her had already receded into nothingness. She pursed her lips, drawing a hand up to tuck loose fly-away curls back into a sloppy bun near the back of her head.

Then Lami forgot how to spell Magnus and suddenly I - well.  W- E - L - L.

ANGSTY STARTERS

“Though I have to admit that power is more of a burden if anything. I knew a warlock who could read minds. He never unlearned some of the deepest secrets people hold in the back of their minds.” Magnus crossed his arms over his chest before he tilted his head just a little, lost in thought before he shook himself out of it. “It was haunting apparently, he grew depressed since nothing was ‘sacred’ anymore. If you follow, you’re a smart cookie what am I saying you understand.”  Rushing back and forth while he spoke,  he busied himself with orders his clients had placed on serums and spells . While he worked he tilted his head back at the young fledgling. Only occasionally did his eyes flicker up to the brunette’s face, meeting his eyes for a split second before going back to his work. “Was there something else you needed? You know that usually you’re with Clary when you come over. You just- showed up out of the blue and started chattering about mind reading.”  Magnus gestured at his guest with a flourish of his wrist, rolling his head back to crack his neck he swore that he had been hunched over his work bench for far too long. “Don’t you have ...a hobby or perhaps a girlfriend?”  Knowing that Simon had tried to better himself away from Clary, or so he heard through some whispers from the small rag-tag group that frequented his home. “I could introduce you to a woman ..or man? I never know what the trend is for your age group. Experimentation always makes you a better person. Or..perhaps that’s not it. Well either way, you should get out more. The world is a interesting place once you explore the night life. “  Magnus would know, he had lived in both the day and night, in the shadows he enjoyed all sorts of unique pleasures and interesting individuals that satisfied his needs.
