ur fic reminded me about the idea i haven't been able to get out of my head that. well. ryo's parents run a hospital. so what if... nijika met ryo on the night her mom died, and their relationship is both a silver lining and a constant reminder of that trauma
this is tickling my brain.. ryos parents are interesting to contrast w nijikas too, i think in a way there's already something of a reminder in ryo even w canon. there's like this long tweet a jpn-speaking mutual of mine made on twt where it went something like There's an interesting contrast and/or potential conflict between Ijichi, who got absorbed in rock music and culture to cope with a parental death and other absences in her life out of her control vs Yamada who (ostensibly) is in a better-off environment choosing to cast it away and rebelling against her parents thru rock. (if that makes sense)
in any case there's grounds for them to butt heads over that and in that scenario especially so
tbh if yoyoko's getting tossed in the polykessoku mix (which is also the ideal for me) then yoyokita is actually really nice? like, they're both social media-obsessed frontwomen with imposter syndrome to hell, there's Gotta be something there
