Some basic info about Let’s all love the Avatar (Lalta for short) I need people to know, especially for anyone who’s coming into this blog and is confused by all the artwork/lore stuff I post abt this au.
It’s an AU centering around the four Avatars Aang talked to for advice (Yangchen, Kuruk, Kyoshi and Roku). And the political conflicts they dealt during their adulthood as the Avatar. I plan to turn this au into a Visual Novel anthology with four games, each game covering an Avatar and the respective conflict they had to deal with.
The main gist of this AU, Is that It’s basically more historically/period accurate, therefore more brutal and fucked up. Because of this, I intended this au for mature audiences (18+, preferably). Because of the more controversial subject matters such as rape, grooming, human trafficking, underage prostitution… etc Which I will handle with my most utmost care, especially with ones dealing sexual violence and abuse against children, which I will mot make an attempt to make any sexualized depictions of. If I make anything tasteless, that is entirely my fault and I will appreciate any criticism of my handling of subject matters.
Another thing to note is that the games are NSFW, and therefore will contain sexually explicit scenes (H scenes for you VN nerds), but these scenes are between adult characters (The Avatar themselves and their lovers, or anybody else that’s an adult they’re fucking lol).
Another thing of this AU is that the Avatar is actually quite morally ambiguous now, so no more of that stuff of Avatars being flawed but ultimately good people, unfortunately. Because Raava and Vaatu are now the spirits of Order and Chaos and merged with Wan, to become the Avatar/Force of Balance for the world. Which means that anyone can be reincarnated as an Avatar, and not just those flawed but ultimately good people. Which also means there is nothing stopping the Avatar to commit literal crimes against humanity bc of their twisted sense of reality in this AU.
But this is a Visual Novel after all, which means there is also nothing stopping you from choosing routes that still maintain the Avatar’s core beliefs and actually approach the conflict with their utmost care, but yet again, there’s also nothing stopping you from going 180 or extremist on your values and beliefs and causing the fall of a nation due to a twisted sense of reality from all the stuff you went through, as long as it gets the job done, it gets categorized as a good ending! Even if you did heinous crimes in the end. (Note: I’ll explain more of how the choices, routes and endings work in an upcoming post. Go to #Lalta Basics for more basic details surrounding this AU like gameplay, mechanics… etc. But for things such as lore, characters and world building, go to #Lalta lore, which I will feature in an upcoming post about the four main characters [Yangchen, Kuruk, Kyoshi and Roku] and how they differ in this AU compared to their canon selves).
Why did I make the Avatars morally ambiguous you may ask? Because I wanted to make a commentary on how we as a society have a tendency to glorify certain people, while unintentionally dehumanizing them in the process and very much forget that they can abuse their position as a ‘hero’ or completely break down from all the pressure. While we also do see this mythologization/glorification in other characters, like the villains. The Avatars are meant to be a direct representation of Humanity’s neverending urge to glorify people and push them into the role of hero, ever since the dawn of mankind. And that no matter how much we improve on learning on the human psyche and realize how bad dehumanizing and glorifying people is, we will all unfortunately fall back into our old ways as every generation has dozens if not thousands of people who have been shoved into this ‘hero’ role and is demonized to be anything else that isn’t it.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: The games are actually being made into a real thing, I’m currently learning code (still very bad at it btw) from my friend to create Yangchen’s game. Unfortunately, It’ll probably take like 8-10 years or more to finish Yangchen’s game because I am very, VERY slow (esp at drawing), unfortunately. So get mad at me, call this project pointless for the ridiculous wait time but that’s the reality of it, unfortunately :’) And I have to be as honest as I am in this project to not get myself put in those “The Avatar visual novel scam” videos /hj
So that’s all I have to say because this post is already getting way too long.
