the demons told me to write biospec headcanons about Her
Spirit's species (formally titled "Pursuers") doesn't have much documentation, however it's apparent that she isn't the only one present in the Wrath ring. Despite this, it's been made clear that her species is generally very independent, as well as extremely intelligent and territorial.
There have been times where a number of sinner, hellborn, and sometimes bear corpses have been found near Spirit's residence, the Colosseum.
Most of these kills seem to not be out of need for food or defense. Reports state that there are heads of victims placed in certain areas of the Colosseum, seemingly as either a warning or perhaps even trophies.
Pursuers are considered an apex predator in Wrath's food chain, as there have been no known instances of them being killed by anything that wasn't their own.
Spirit herself exhibits the same critical thinking skills of that of the average adult human, which makes her more terrifying as a stalker-type predator. It can be assumed other pursuers exhibit the same level of intelligence.
The undersides of her feet and hands are soft and fleshy to muffle her steps, but are also tipped with sharp claws that allow her to rip and tear into prey. She also has spines similar to that of a porcupine, (albeit made of a much more tough and sturdy material,) that protrude from her back, likely to protect from other aggressors sneak-attacking her.
In pursuers, horns are more often than not shaped and placed irregularly atop the head. Spirit specifically has five-six horns that poke out from the top, sides, and back of her head.
Pursuers have been seen utilizing tools and weapons in their hunts, usually blade-types, but also their own spines as well.
Although she stalks her prey, there have been times where she's directly confronted others in battle. She rarely eats prey once slain in this situation, so it's speculated that this is a kind of recreational activity for her. It's unknown if other members of her species partake in this behavior as well.
Along with spines, it's noted that she has bone-growths that are positioned where her ribs and hipbones are, likely to protect the soft underside.
Behavior-wise, it can be inferred that pursuers act in a cat-like manner based on Spirit's observed behavior, though it's been shown that she can exhibit human-like qualities as well, such as speaking simple sentences, with minimal grammatical errors. It can be assumed her vocabulary is likely more advanced due to constant exposure to civilization.
Pursuers have the ability to reproduce asexually and sexually, but the latter is quite rare.
Asexual reproduction consists of eating prey and then vomiting out the remains after a while, to which the pile can take shape of a much more simplified (anatomically and physiologically speaking), more "feral" offspring, thus which have been titled "chompers." At birth, they are at least the size of an average adolescent human, but as they mature, they can grow up to be nearly just as tall as a pursuer's average height, which is 11tf tall. They don't exhibit the same intelligence as the average pursuer, moreso acting like an animal.
The average strength of a pursuer is equivalent to at least five grown adults, and can reach speeds of up to around 100 mph. However, on average, pursuers tend to run at around 65 mph, as running at top speed for too long wears them down excruciatingly.
Spirit has been shown to exhibit docile behavior, although towards a select few residents of Hell (being Val, Kyle, Lumbar, and Ian.)
No one knows exactly why she acts such a way towards these four in particular, but it's assumed that pursuers are able to form bonds with select individuals, reason why is currently unknown.
